low as 6.95 on Amazon), here are a few recipes to make the right elixirs for your home
keeping needs:
Cleaning With White Wine Vinegar
White wine vinegar is inexpensive, non-toxic, environmentally friendly, and has anti—
bacterial properties. Its acidic base makes it a powerful cleaner.
Mopping Solution
- 1/2 cup distilled white vinegar, 1 gallon of warm water, 2 tablespoons of mild dish soap, several drops of scented oils (peppermint, lavender, or tangerine)
Orange Power Cleaner
- Save the peels of 3-4 organic oranges.
- Place peels into a quart jar and cover with white vinegar.
- Allow to sit for about 2 weeks in a cabinet or on the counter, shake occasionally
- After 2 weeks, strain out the citrus scented vinegar into a spray bottle, which
- will no longer smell like vinegar.
Cleaning with Baking Soda
Carpet Freshener and Deodorizer
- 2 cups baking soda, 30 drops lavender essential oil (lavender is anti-bacterial)
- Combine baking soda and essential oil in a mason jar. Cap and shake well to combine.
- Remove cap and replace inner lid with construction paper.
- Secure rim and cut off excess construction paper, poke holes in the paper
- Apply liberally to carpets.
- Wait at least 1-2 hours and vacuum thoroughly.
