How To Keep Your Home Healthy and Alluring

A home is not just a state of mind. The space you reside in is part of an organic living system that’s strongly linked to your own body and soul. It’s the shelter where you dwell, dine, and sleep. It’s where you may entertain your family and friends. It may even be a venue for your physical activity. Taking care of your home is a necessity in order to thrive and maintain your health.

How to give your home a Healthy Allure:

First, you must make dirt an uninvited guest. Take your shoes off at the front door to avoid tracking dirt and germs throughout your home. With a full schedule every day, some chores may fall by the wayside, but doing something small for ten minutes a day goes a long way. Vacuum the living room, pick the toys up off the floor, or dust the bookshelf. Try to tidy up daily.

Trade in your outside clothes for your inside clothes. All throughout the day, we encounter germs, air pollution and street dust. Step out of your outside clothes once you step in as soon as possible. Throw them in the hamper or air them out. Maintain the quality of your clothes and increase their lifespan by folding them away neatly in a drawer or hanging them up in your closet. You will not need to buy new clothes if you can keep your old clothes looking brand new!

Give your home a taste of the outdoors. Your home needs access to clean air and sunlight just as much as you do! Open the windows every morning a crack to let in a light breeze. Pull back the curtains and lift the shades or blinds to invite those sunrays in. In the winter months, unless temperatures are freezing cold, open the window, leave the room and shut the door for about five minutes.

Make your home an exemplary model of organic, natural, and chemical free living. Cleaning products contain harsh chemicals and toxins that are not safe to breathe in. Safer products can be either purchased at the grocery store, or made by items you already have in your own kitchen pantry.

Clean out the clutter! How do you feel when you lose weight or are relieved of some burdens? You feel lighter and can focus on other things you would like to do. The same mentality applies to your home. Why are you holding on to that ugly stuffed frog your ex won for you at a carnival ten years ago? When was the last time you wore that prom dress? Your unneeded items can become somebody else’s treasure. Use this as an opportunity to gain some cash by selling your items on eBay or PoshMark, even better, donate to the needy!

Get organized. When you organize your belongings, your home doesn’t only look neater and cleaner, you’re able to take better stock of what you have and what you’re missing. You may be surprised to find a ton of empty picture frames you forgot you had because they’re stuffed in random boxes in your basement! Invest in space savers, file your mail immediately upon opening, and keep similar belongings together in one location.

Adopt houseplants into your family. Inviting these living wonders into your house brings in harmony, health, and a natural beauty into your home. Plants are natural air purifiers, eliminate allergens, help increase oxygen levels and destroy pollutants. They bring you closer to nature in your indoor environment.

Doll up your home! Make your home feel special by dressing it up without needing to spend a fortune on designer furniture or pricey artwork. Be inspired by things around you and be your own decorator. You will find a plethora of inexpensive, yet very charming household items for bed, bath, dining and yard at the dollar store or consignment shops. Experiment with colors you love to paint the walls.Have fun picking out tablecloth, pillowcases, and doilies to give your furniture some style without breaking the bank.
